Even a tough machine like the Can-Am Maverick X3 loses steering precision as the factory rack wears and develops play, and big tires and suspension upgrades speed that up. The RackBoss 2.0 rack and pinion is a smarter, stronger replacement built around X24 dual-bushing technology that cuts wear by over 50% compared with OEM after 15,000 cycles. It comes with your choice of swaged tube, solid steel bar, or billet aluminum hex tie rods, for 64" or 72" wide models.
Why It's an Upgrade
- X24 Tech: two heavy-duty PTFE bushings that prevent wear and reduce slop
- Over 50% less wear than OEM after 15,000 cycles
- Three cam follower bearings support the rack flag
- Grease fittings for the rack gears
- Three tie rod choices to match your build
X24 Dual-Bushing Technology
The heart of the RackBoss 2.0 is a pair of heavy-duty PTFE bushings that keep everything tight and locked in. They stop internal play and keep the rack gear and tension spring almost motionless. The flag, where the rack connects to the tie rods, is supported by three cam follower bearings to cut wear and torsion even further, while the stock rack rubs metal on metal with every turn. Two built-in grease fittings let you keep the steering smooth ride after ride. It's built for massive upgrades and extreme riding.
Choose Your Tie Rods
Steel Swaged Tube
Ultra-strong swaged steel tube tie rods with durable, high-strength heim joints. They use 16mm threads at the rack and 14mm threads at the rod, and they're built to stand up to anything the X3 can dish out.
Solid Steel Bar
For serious strength, these are machined from 1" thick steel bar with beefy 3/4" outer heim joints and tough, rebuildable inner tie rods. With 3/4" rod threads and 16mm rack threads, they're made for hard hits, rough terrain, and riders who do all their talking with their right foot.
Billet Aluminum Hex
Polished 6061 billet aluminum hex tie rods for maximum strength and head-turning style. They pair with heavy-duty tie rod ends using 3/4" rod threads and 16mm rack threads, so you can go full send without holding back.
