Some Ranger owners want a bed cover that looks like it came from the factory and is built from metal, not plastic. The Highlands metal rear bed cover is that version. It is built from aluminum with an OEM-style finish, shaped to the lines of the 2018-2026 Ranger 1000 and XP 1000, and closes the entire cargo bed under a sealed, lockable lid.
What Sets the Metal Cover Apart
- Aluminum construction: rugged without adding a lot of weight to the bed.
- OEM-style finish that follows the body lines of the full-size Ranger.
- Weatherproof seals over the entire cargo bed keep rain and dust off your gear.
- Lockable latches for tools, chainsaws and hunting gear left in the truck bed.
- Clearance underneath for gas cans, coolers, helmets and tools.
- After the first assembly, the cover goes on and comes off easily.
Ownership Tips
- Rinse grit off the seal edges so the lid closes cleanly.
- Lube the lock cylinders before winter.
- Leave the lid unlocked when the cover is off the machine, so the latches are not under strain.

What's in the Box
- Highlands metal rear bed cover for Ranger 1000 / XP 1000
- Mounting hardware
Who It's For and What Pairs Well
This cover is for Ranger owners who treat the bed like a truck bed and want a sturdier, factory-style lid over it. Pair it with a Viper Ranger winch kit, and close up the cab with a Ranger windshield and roof. For a lighter, lower-cost poly cover, see Ranger cargo and storage.
Installation Notes
Moto Alliance says the cover takes some initial assembly. After that, it installs and comes off easily. They have not posted a PDF for this part, so give yourself time on the first assembly and lay out all the hardware before you start. Have a helper set the cover on the bed, then open and close the lid to check that the latches line up and the seals sit flat. If you have a bed-mounted rack, toolbox or spare carrier, check clearance first, because the cover is designed to secure the entire bed.
