The Can-Am Defender HD10 is built to work hard, and with a true 6" lift it can play even harder. The Atlas Pro 6" Lift Kit raises the machine to 19.25" of ground clearance, widens the stance to 76" and makes room for tires up to 38". It's a complete package with heavy-duty Atlas Pro A-arms, four Rhino 2.0 axles, Z-bend tie rods and a track bar kit, so the whole suspension is built for the new height.
Highlights
- True 6" of lift
- 19.25" ground clearance (up from 13"-15" stock, depending on model)
- Run up to 38" tires (up from 27"-30" stock)
- 11"-12" wider stance for stability, 76" total width
- Atlas Pro A-arms with 1.5" tubing
- Four extended Rhino 2.0 axles included
- Heavy-duty Z-bend tie rods, steering stops and track bar kit
- CNC laser cut and brake press bent steel lift brackets
- Maintains steering radius and suspension travel
- Lifetime warranty on A-arms and brackets
Atlas Pro A-Arms
A big lift needs big strength. The front and rear Atlas Pro A-arms use massive 1.5" diameter tubing with super-thick 1/4" walls on the outer structural tubes and 1/8" walls on the cross braces. They're the toughest arms in the lineup and carry a lifetime warranty.
Rhino 2.0 Axles Included
Stock-strength axles won't survive a 6" lift. The kit includes four Rhino 2.0 axles made from 4340 chromoly steel with a proprietary heat treatment, a massive increase in shaft size and heavy-duty CVs. They're built to run at the higher angles of a lifted machine, field and lab tested, and backed by an 18-month warranty.
Steering and Track Bar
Bigger tires and a wider stance need longer, stronger tie rods, so heavy-duty Z-bend tie rods and steering stops keep the steering geometry in check. Long suspension adds leverage every time you drop into a mud hole; the included track bar kit stiffens the rig so you can focus on driving.
Keeps Your Defender Useful
The lift doesn't interfere with the dump bed or the OEM plastics. You gain clearance, width and stability while keeping all the utility you bought the Defender for.
Preinstalled Ball Joint Options
Order the A-arms with ball joints already pressed in to save shop time. If you choose "I will do the work myself," you must reuse your stock ball joints. Upgrades add to the price:
- Heavy-Duty 4340 Chromoly: 4340 VAR steel, zinc plated, adjustable and greaseable, handles twice the force of stock
- Super Duty 300M: adjustable steel-on-steel design, easy-access grease zerks, rated 2.25 times stronger than stock
- Keller Performance: two-piece design threads into the A-arm like a nut and bolt with no snap ring, so it's virtually impossible to pull out; chromoly stud, tool-steel body, greaseable and rebuildable
Pick Your Model
Choose All Other Models, Limited/Lone Star, or XMR in the Model picker, since each uses a specific bracket setup and instruction sheet.
6" Lift, Long Travel or Portals?
- 6" lift kit (this one): the most ground clearance and tire room for the money, with wider arms and stronger axles; best for mud, ruts and rocks
- Long travel kit: focuses on width and suspension travel for stability and ride quality at speed
- Portal gear lift: lifts at the hub and adds gear reduction to turn huge tires, but costs more
For a working Defender that also plays hard in the mud, a 6" lift is the most popular big-tire route.
Plan the Whole Build
- Tires: 35"-38" mud tires are the usual choice; heavier tires make steering harder
- Power steering: strongly recommended for 35"+ tires
- Clutch: taller tires change effective gearing, so a clutch kit helps restore low-end pull
- Protection: skid plates and rock sliders protect the new hardware and frame
- Wheels: 15" or larger if you want Keller ball joints
Good to Know
Expect a taller step-in and a higher center of gravity; the 11"-12" wider stance helps offset that. After install, set the alignment and re-check all hardware after the first rides.
Install Overview
The job involves removing the stock A-arms, axles, tie rods and sway bars, then bolting in the lift brackets, new arms, axles, track bar and steering parts and installing the extended brake lines. Bleed the brakes when done. With preinstalled ball joints, most experienced home mechanics can finish in a weekend with a helper.
Tip: pick the correct model group before ordering. Limited, Lone Star and XMR models use different parts than the base and DPS trims.
