The back of a Can-Am Defender HD10 backs into stumps, trailers and loading docks more than anyone likes to admit, and it's also where you often need a recovery point. This sheet metal rear bumper armors the rear end in steel plate and turns it into a utility station with D-rings, a light bar mount and a built-in mount for a rear winch.

Rear Protection That Takes a Beating

Rocks, ruts, stumps and trail debris hit the rear of the machine too, especially backing down a hill or reversing out of a tight spot. The 1/8" plate bumper mounts directly to the frame and keeps that damage off the bodywork.

A Rear Winch Changes Everything

A rear winch lets you pull backward out of a hole you drove into nose first, drag logs and brush, or skid a deer to the trail. The built-in mount accepts a 3,500 lb winch, or you can use the space for a 12" LED light bar for backing up and working behind the machine at night.

Add a Winch

Choose the bumper alone or add a 3,500 lb winch in the option picker; the winch option costs more. The bolt pattern matches many popular winches, so check yours before installing a different brand.

Rear Winch Tips

• Anchor to a tree saver strap or a solid point, never wrap the rope around itself
• Keep at least five wraps of rope on the drum before a heavy pull
• Put the machine in neutral and let the winch do the work when pulling backward
• Drape a heavy jacket or a winch damper over the rope during the pull
