Install the carrier and support brackets along the passenger side of the bed, set the stud for your wheel offset, then mount the spare with the cone and spin-on retainer. Because the spare sits upright along the side, you keep the full bed width for loads like fence posts, feed and tool boxes. Check that the tailgate and any bed accessories clear the tire before your first load. Before ordering, measure your spare: the overall diameter must be within the carrier's stated capacity, and a mounted spare adds real weight up high, so check strap tension and hardware torque after the first ride and at every service.
