The weak points of the Polaris RZR XP 1000 transmission are well known: the reverse chain breaks and the case cracks. This Complete Geared-Reverse Transmission replaces the whole unit with a Turbo-style transmission that has a geared reverse 3x stronger than stock, pinion and snorkel gears 2.5x stronger than stock, a 6 mm pinion bearing retainer, and a reinforced case. It's fully assembled and installs as a drop-in with no modification. Order it with stock gearing or a 12.5%, 25% or 37.5% gear reduction (on some models) for more torque at the wheels.

Geared Reverse Instead of a Chain

The reverse chain is the part most XP 1000 owners are trying to get away from. This transmission throws it out and uses a geared reverse that's 3x stronger than stock, so you can back out of a mud hole or off a ledge without worrying about breaking it.

Turbo-Size Pinion and Snorkel Gears

The pinion and snorkel gears are as big as the ones in the RZR Turbo, and they're paired with a stronger 300M output shaft. A massive 6 mm-thick bearing retainer with a 6-bolt pattern holds them in place so they keep meshing correctly no matter how hard you push.

Reinforced Case

The cast aluminum case is stronger in all the right places. It has extra cooling ribs and support gussets, with special attention paid to the snorkel tube and output areas, the two biggest weak spots on the stock case.

Choosing a Gear Reduction

A gear reduction puts more torque to the ground, which helps with heavier machines, bigger tires and deep mud. Stock gearing keeps your factory top speed, a 12.5% reduction is a moderate step for bigger tires, and 25% or 37.5% suits heavy, big-tire mud or rock builds. More reduction means less top speed in exchange for low-end pull.

Why Not Just Rebuild the Stock Unit?

Rebuilding a stock XP 1000 transmission with factory parts puts the same reverse chain and the same case design back in the machine, so the same failures tend to come back. A complete replacement with a geared reverse, larger gears and a reinforced case removes those weak spots, and because it arrives assembled you skip the internal rebuild work.
