Every stock steering rack on a Polaris RZR XP 1000 eventually wears, develops play, and leaves the steering feeling vague and sloppy, and big tires speed that up. RackBoss 2.0 is built to stop that cycle. Its housing is 65% larger than stock, and its X24 Tech dual PTFE bushing design supports the rack at both ends, which cuts wear by over 50% compared to OEM after 15,000 cycles. Pick it with swaged steel, solid steel bar or billet aluminum hex tie rods. It fits the 2014-2023 XP 1000 and XP 4 1000, including High Lifter and Trails and Rocks editions.

Built to Stay Tight
The original RackBoss was upgraded to make the 2.0 the strongest, most durable rack in its class. With it installed, you can run massive tires and tackle punishing terrain every day for years without worrying about the rack. It keeps steering responsive even in the toughest conditions.
X24 Tech Dual-Bushing Design
The rack is supported by tough PTFE bushings at both ends. That's the X24 Tech design, and it's why RackBoss 2.0 can take bigger hits with larger tires without the steering going sloppy. It keeps the internals stable and the rack feeling like new longer than any other RZR 1000 steering rack. The built-in grease fittings let you push out the grit that gets in when you ride hard in mud or water.
Option 1: Swaged Tube Tie Rods
The steel swaged tube tie rods are light but strong. Swaging significantly increases the strength of the 7/8" diameter tubing. They use rebuildable inner ball and sockets with 14 mm rod threads and 16 mm rack threads, paired with 14 mm outer tie rod ends so the usual weak points are as strong as possible. This is the right choice for the casual rider who's tired of stock performance.
Option 2: Solid Steel Bar Tie Rods
Solid steel bar tie rods give you robust strength for rough terrain. They're ideal for turning big tires through slop and picking through boulder fields. The 1" diameter steel bar is paired with 3/4" outer tie rod ends and rebuildable inner tie rods with 3/4" rod threads and 16 mm rack threads.
Option 3: Billet Aluminum Hex Tie Rods
For the strongest, lightest and best-looking setup, choose the billet aluminum hex tie rods. The polished 6061 billet construction is big and beefy, giving long-term durability without adding much weight. They come with oversized 3/4" outer tie rod ends and rebuildable inner tie rods with 3/4" rod threads and 16 mm rack threads. These are for the biggest builds and hardest rides.

Choosing Your Model, Year and Tie Rods
Select your model (Standard, High Lifter Edition or Trails and Rocks Edition), then your year range, then your tie rod type. Standard models are split into 2014-2018 and 2019-2023; High Lifter Edition is listed as 2015-2023 and Trails and Rocks as 2017-2023. The swaged tube kit is the lowest-priced option, solid steel bar is the middle step, and billet hex is the top tier.
Does It Help at Speed and on Rough Ground?
Yes. Because the larger housing and dual bushings keep the internals tight, the steering stays responsive at speed and doesn't fade as the trail gets rough. You get more confidence and better control when conditions get unpredictable.
Can the Tie Rods Be Serviced?
Yes. All three tie rod options use rebuildable inner tie rods, so you can service them instead of replacing the whole assembly. The rack gears are greaseable too, which is a big part of why it lasts.
Signs Your Stock Rack Is Worn
A worn rack usually shows up gradually. You'll notice free play at the steering wheel before the tires respond, a clunk when you turn back and forth at a standstill, the machine wandering on straight trails, or a wheel that kicks harder than it used to over rocks. Big tires, lifts and power steering all speed up that wear because they put more force through the rack. If any of that sounds familiar, the rack is likely the cause, and replacing it with RackBoss 2.0 fixes it with a rack designed not to wear the same way.
Why the Steering Stop Kit Matters
Bigger tires and stronger tie rods can let the steering travel far enough at full lock for the tire to contact the A-arm or frame, or put the CV joints at extreme angles. The included steering stop kit limits rack travel so you can set full lock where nothing rubs. Set it during the install with the suspension compressed and the wheels turned fully in each direction.
Pairs Well with Power Steering
An electric power steering unit adds a lot of force on the rack, and on a stock rack that extra force speeds up wear. The 65% larger housing and dual-bushing support of RackBoss 2.0 make it a good match for EZ-STEER kits on big-tire machines.
What's in the Box
- RackBoss 2.0 rack and pinion
- Tie rods (swaged tube, solid steel bar or billet aluminum hex, as selected)
- Inner boots
- Steering stop kit
- Misalignment bushings, tie rod studs and hardware
Who It's For and What Pairs Well
RackBoss 2.0 is for any XP 1000 with a worn rack, and for big-tire, lifted or portal builds that overload the stock steering. Add assist with an EZ-STEER power steering kit from RZR XP 1000 steering parts (4-seat: RZR XP 4 1000 steering parts), and fresh ball joints from RZR XP 1000 suspension parts to finish a front-end rebuild.
