The stock primary clutch on a Polaris RZR XP Turbo is fine for stock power, but add tires, tuning or hard riding and it starts burning belts and wearing out. This Heavy-Duty Primary Clutch Assembly is a billet aluminum clutch with a wider spider, stronger towers and 4140 chromoly rollers and pins, built to transfer more torque for longer. It comes fully assembled and works with your OEM secondary clutch, clutch arms and primary springs.
Highlights
- 100% billet aluminum alloy body
- Wider spider and stronger towers handle more torque than stock
- 4140 chromoly steel spider rollers and pins
- Compatible with your OEM secondary clutch
- Reuses your OEM clutch arms and springs
- 2-way bearing, no engine braking
Drop-In Upgrade
The clutch arrives fully assembled. Move your OEM clutch arms and springs into the new clutch, install it and ride. No secondary clutch swap is needed.
Built Where Stock Falls Short
The towers and spider are much stronger and smoother than OEM. After hundreds of miles of hard real-world testing without a breakdown, the clutch has proven to outlast stock and destroy fewer belts.
Why the Primary Clutch Matters
The primary clutch is the first link between the turbo engine and the drive belt. When it can't clamp and shift smoothly under heavy torque, the belt slips and heats up, which is where most burned belts come from. A stronger, smoother primary keeps belt engagement consistent, so more of the engine's power reaches the ground and less of it turns into heat.
Choose Your Year
Pick 2016-2020 or 2021 in the option menu. The two years use different clutch versions, and each has its own instructions linked below.
What's in the Box
- Clutch assembly
- Rollers
- Roller pins
Weights and springs are not included; reuse your OEM parts or add a clutch kit.
Who It's For and What Pairs Well
It's for Turbo owners pushing more power or bigger tires through the CVT. Tune it with a clutch kit from RZR XP Turbo clutch and transmission, and back it up with stronger shafts from RZR XP Turbo axles.
Fitment
| Year | Make | Model |
|---|---|---|
| 2016-2021 | Polaris | RZR XP Turbo |

Installation Notes
Removing a primary clutch requires the correct clutch puller and holder. Transfer the arms and springs, torque the clutch bolt to spec and check belt deflection before riding.
