Every factory rack wears out eventually. The play builds up, the steering gets vague, and with big tires on a Polaris RZR XP Turbo the wheel starts to wander in your hands. RackBoss 2.0 is built to stop that cycle. Its X24 Tech dual-bushing design supports the rack at both ends to remove internal play, and in testing it showed over 50% less wear than OEM after 15,000 cycles. Pick the tie rod style that fits how you ride and get precise steering back.

How the Dual-Bushing Design Prevents Slop
In a typical rack, the rack bar can shift inside its housing, and every bump grinds that clearance a little bigger. X24 Tech puts heavy-duty PTFE bushings at both ends, holding the rack bar steady and keeping the tension spring nearly motionless. With almost no unintended movement inside, the rack stays tight through hard hits and big tires and holds its like-new feel for years longer. After a deep mud or water ride, pump fresh grease in through the built-in fitting to push out contamination.
Tie Rod Options
- Swaged steel tube: 7/8" steel tube, swaged for added strength while staying light. Uses 14 mm outer tie rod ends and rebuildable inner ball and sockets with 14 mm rod threads and 16 mm rack threads. A big step up for casual riders tired of stock steering.
- Solid steel bar: 1" solid steel bars with 3/4" outer heim joints and rebuildable inners using 3/4" rod threads and 16 mm rack threads. Built for hard hits and large tires.
- Billet aluminum hex: 6061 billet aluminum hex bars, very strong and very light, with the same 3/4" heim and 3/4" inner thread setup as the steel bar. The polished hex finish is the top-of-the-line look.
Comparing the Three Setups
All three versions share the X24 dual-bushing rack, the grease fitting, inner boots, the steering stop kit and the misalignment bushings, studs and hardware. The difference is the tie rods. Swaged tube is the lightest on the budget and the best match for stock tire sizes. Steel bar adds the 3/4" thread size for riders on bigger tires who hit things hard. Billet hex gives you the same 3/4" hardware with less weight and a polished look.
Why the Bigger Housing Matters
The housing is 65% larger than the factory piece, so there's more material around the gears where a rock strike or a hard landing puts stress. Combined with the bushings, it lets the rack keep turning large tires on technical terrain without the steering going loose.
Signs Your Factory Rack Is Done
If the steering wheel has free play before the tires respond, the machine darts over ruts, or you hear a clunk when you turn lock to lock, the rack is likely worn inside. Bigger tires and power steering speed that wear up. Replacing it with a rack that resists wear is cheaper over time than replacing stock racks again and again.

Installation Notes
Remove the factory rack and tie rods, install the RackBoss with its steering stops, thread on the tie rods and set toe. Grease the rack through the fitting and get an alignment after install. Check the tie rod jam nuts and the rack mounting bolts again after the first ride, and add a few pumps of grease after any deep water or mud crossing.
