On an Xpedition XP or XP 5 overland trip, the bed has to carry the spare, the cooler and the gear, and still hold your lights. DRT's system does both jobs. The tire carrier holds a spare above the bed with a closed-off lower area and room underneath for most 12V coolers. The bed rack adds light mounts facing forward, sideways, rearward or over the bed. Both clamp to the Xpedition's extruded aluminum bed rails without affecting the tilt bed. Buy the complete kit or either piece alone.

Installation Notes
Both pieces bolt to the extruded aluminum bed rails. Install the carrier first if you bought the kit, then add the rack. Check that the tilt bed still lifts freely before loading. Measure your cooler against the 20" center clearance. Choosing a package: the complete kit is the best value if you want both spare storage and light mounting. Pick the tire carrier alone if you already have lights on the cage and just need the spare off the bed floor. Pick the bed rack alone if you carry the spare elsewhere but want chase, work or side lights over the bed. Both pieces share the same bed-rail mounting, so you can start with one and add the other later. Clear anodized mesh plates on the rack can be swapped to a colored finish to tie the rack into the rest of your build. Keep heavy items low in the closed-off lower bed area and lighter gear on top of the spare. Before ordering, measure your spare: the overall diameter must be within the carrier's stated capacity, and a mounted spare adds real weight up high, so check strap tension and hardware torque after the first ride and at every service. Wire any rack-mounted lights through a fused relay and route the harness along the bed rail so the tilt bed can still lift without pulling on the wiring.
