A long travel kit widens a Polaris RZR XP Turbo and sends the wheels through far more travel, and that means stock-length axles can't come along. This Rhino 2.0 Long Travel Axle is made at the extended length a 3" long travel kit needs, with a rear option for the 3.5" Lonestar Racing kit. It's built from heat-treated 4340 chromoly with larger shafts and CV parts than stock, so it handles the extra angle and the Turbo's torque without binding or breaking.

Highlights

  • Extended length for 3" long travel kits, front or rear
  • Rear option for the 3.5" Lonestar Racing long travel kit
  • 4340 chromoly with a proprietary heat treatment
  • 100% stronger than stock
  • Shaft and CV parts 4 mm larger than stock
  • Runs 40-degree-plus axle angles without binding or overheating
  • No break-in period
  • 18-month manufacturer warranty

Built for Long Travel Angles

On a long travel machine the axle sees steep angles at full droop and full bump. Rhino 2.0 is designed to run past 40 degrees while staying cool, which is where a lot of axles start to heat up and fail. The larger CV components spread the load, and the extra 4 mm of shaft size adds strength right where the twisting force is greatest.

Flex Instead of Snap

The 4340 chromoly and its heat treatment give the shaft a high twist yield. Under a sudden shock load the shaft can flex and return to shape instead of transferring all that force into your differential or transmission. A slightly twisted axle is a far cheaper repair than a broken diff case on the trail.

Tested Hard

Each axle is drawn in CAD and tested through simulations and real riding, from 80+ mph desert runs to high-angle mud riding on monster tires and rock crawling. That testing is why the axle needs no break-in and holds up without metallurgical heat failures. Its strength is comparable to super-duty axles that cost $550 to $900.

Choosing the Right Axle

  • Front, 3" long travel: for the front of a 3" long travel kit.
  • Rear, 3" long travel: for the rear of a 3" long travel kit.
  • Rear, 3.5" Lonestar Racing: for the rear of a Lonestar Racing 3.5" kit.

Most riders carry one front and one rear as trail spares, or replace all four at once when building the kit.

Signs an Axle Needs Attention

A clicking noise when turning, a vibration that grows with speed, or grease slung around the inside of the wheel are the usual warnings. A torn boot lets dirt and water into the CV, and on a long travel machine the joint is working harder than stock, so it wears out faster once contaminated. Check the boots after every muddy ride and replace a damaged one right away.

Built for the Width

A long travel kit pushes the hubs out several inches on each side. Running a stock-length axle in that setup either won't reach or will pull the CV apart at droop. This axle is made to the kit's length, so the plunge stays inside its working range from full bump to full droop, and the extra 4 mm of shaft size handles the leverage of the wider stance.

Fitment Notes

  • Fits 2016-2021 RZR XP Turbo and XP 4 Turbo with a long travel kit
  • Not compatible with anti-lock brake systems (ABS)
  • Rear axles may need minor grinding on Turbo models; see the instructions

Installation Notes

Swap one axle at a time with the machine supported, grease the splines, torque the axle nut to spec and check boot clearance through the full range of travel. On rear Turbo installs, read the instructions first, since a little grinding may be needed for clearance. Cycle the suspension by hand before riding to confirm nothing binds.
